Business Account - Required Documentation

Your business type determines the documentation that will be needed to open
a deposit account

Sole Proprietorship

  • Copy of Business License
  • One form of personal ID such as a driver's license
  • Certificate of Assumed Name - if required by state law
  • Social Security Number or Federal Employee Identification Number (EIN)

Partnership

  • A Partnership Agreement for general partnerships
  • A certificate of Limited Partnership for limited partnerships
  • Business status listed as active, current or in very good standing on the Secretary of State's web site for the state in which the business was incorporated. Check Status
  • Federal Employee Identification Number (EIN) -Apply

Limited Liability Company (LLC)

  • Social Security Number acceptable for sole LLC members
  • Articles of Organization and a government issued Business License
  • Business status listed as active, current or in very good standing on the Secretary of State's web site for the state in which the business was incorporated. Check Status
  • Federal Employee Identification Number (EIN) -Apply

Unincorporated Association / Organization

  • Business Tax ID #
  • Business name filing document, such as a Fictitious Name Certificate or Certificate of Trade Name
  • Organizing document, such as Articles of Association (if available) or bylaws
  • Corporate Resolution identifying authorized signers if officer names are not listed on Articles of Association or bylaws

Corporation

  • Signed Corporate Resolution by all officers
  • Business status listed as active, current or in very good standing on the Secretary of State's web site for the state in which the business was incorporated. Check Status
  • 501C letter from the IRS or tax exempt documentation for non profits
  • Certified Articles of Incorporation, Corporate Charter or Government-Issued Business License
  • Federal Employee Identification Number (EIN) -Apply

* A check cashing license is required in the states of South Carolina and Georgia if the person or
  entity is engaged in the business of cashing checks, drafts or money orders for a fee, service
  charge or other consideration (i.e. – with purchase)
