Welcome Philip Wahl

Security Federal Bank is pleased to welcome Philip Wahl as the new Augusta Area Executive and Senior Vice President of Security Federal Bank.  In his role as SVP and Augusta Area Executive, Phil will be responsible for Business Development and Commercial Loan production in Augusta. 

 

In addition to 30 years of banking experience, Phil is also actively involved in the Augusta community.  He is the immediate past Chairman of the Augusta University Foundation Board of Trustees and currently serves on the Hull College of Business Board of Advisors.  He also serves on the Georgia Health Sciences Foundation Board of Trustees.  He was appointed by the Georgia Board of Regents to the ASU-MCG Consolidation Workgroup Committee and to the GRU Presidential Search Committee.Phil served as 2010 Chairman of the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce and is past Chairman of the Augusta Metropolitan Convention & Visitors Bureau.  He currently serves as Chairman of the CSRA Citizens Review Panel for the Transportation Investment Act of 2010.

He is a member of the Rotary Club of Augusta; and the AU Chapters of the Honor Societies of Phi Kappa Phi, and Beta Gamma Sigma.

 

He previously served on the boards of Augusta Tomorrow, The Morris Museum of Art, the University Healthcare Foundation, the American Red Cross, Richmond-Burke Co. Workforce Investment Board and Augusta-Richmond Co. Community Partnership for Children and Families, Inc. He is a 2001 graduate of Leadership Augusta and served as Chairman of the Leadership Augusta Class of 2004. He is past Chairman of the Augusta Downtown Development Authority 2004-2005, past Chairman of Junior Achievement of the CSRA, Inc. 1998-2000, and past President of the Augusta University Alumni Association 1996-1998.

 

Phil is an avid golfer and is married to the former Catherine Ruth Wade of Augusta. Phil and Catherine have two children, Olivia and India.

 

Security Federal Bank was established in 1922 in downtown Aiken.  It has grown over the last 95 years to a total of 15 branches.  9 branches are in Aiken County, 4 branches are in the Midlands of South Carolina and 2 branches are in Columbia County, Georgia.
